Community Mourns Young Eagles Fan Killed In Bucks County Crash

Third grader Daniel Klaus was riding in the backseat of the car with his mother when the pair were involved in a two-car crash on April 7.

An online fundraiser has been launched in support of the family of an 8-year-old Bucks County boy who was killed last weekend in a car crash. Daniel Klaus was riding in the backseat of the car with his mother when the pair were involved in a two-car crash on April 7.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. along the 300 block of Street Road in Upper Southampton. The boy, who was found unconscious at the scene, was flown to CHOP following the crash. He succumbed to his injuries Tuesday, April 10.

His loved ones say he was a caring boy who loved the Eagles and played football for the Willow Grove Bears.

"Although, he was only 8 years old he made a memorable impression on everyone he met," the GoFundMe page says. "He was always looking out for others and wanted to take care of everyone. He while only 8 looked at himself as 'the man of house' and made sure to take care of his mother Kelly and grandmother Kim."

Authorities have not released information on what caused the crash, which remains under investigation by the Upper Southampton Township Police Department, the Bucks County Accident Reconstruction Team and the Bucks County District Attorney's office.

Daniel was a third grader at McDonald Elementary and was loved by his friends, teachers and Principal Ortiz, the Centennial School District said in a statement. "The McDonald Elementary family will forever miss their little McDonald Bulldog," the statement said.

The money raised on GoFundMe will go directly to Daniel's mother to pay for funeral and medical costs, the page says. Click here to visit the fundraising page.
