Congressman Fitzpatrick Calls On Attorney General To Recuse Himself From Russian Investigation
Fitzpatrick joins a growing list of Republicans calling on Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from the Russian investigations.

Bucks County's Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick is calling on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian involvement in the United States presidential election amid revelations he did not disclose contact with officials from that country while testifying under oath.
Fitzpatrick joins a growing list of congressional Republicans who are calling on Sessions to recuse himself from the probe into allegations that Russia meddled in the November election between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
The Washington Post on Wednesday reported Sessions, a Trump campaign advisor, met twice with Russia's ambassador last year. The meetings were not disclosed during his Senate confirmation hearing, even when asked directly by Senator Al Franken (D-Minn).

"I am a firm believer in the importance of exhaustive Congressional and law enforcement investigations and, as such, continue to support the FBI and the bipartisan Intelligence Committee investigations into Russian influence in the 2016 elections – including contact between Russia and individuals associated with any political campaign. Should either investigation proceed to the point that it is necessary, I believe Attorney General Sessions must recuse himself," Fitzpatrick said in a statement.
In its report, the Post said Sessions communicated with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in July and then again in September.

During Sessions' senate confirmation hearing, Franken asked: "If there is any evidence that anyone affiliated the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of this campaign, what will you do?"
“I’m not aware of any of those activities,” Sessions said. “I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign, and I did not have communications with the Russians.”
