Construction Projects To Impact Traffic In Lower Bucks

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas, as backups and delays are expected.

NEWTOWN, PA — Several major road construction projects will impact drivers this week in Lower Bucks County. Drivers can expect delays on the following roads and highways:

Woodbourne Road

Construction continues through May on Langhorne-Yardley Road and Woodbourne Road under a $10.9 million project to improve traffic congestion and safety on Langhorne-Yardley Road at the Bridgetown Pike and Woodbourne Road intersections in Middletown Township.

Drivers are advised that a periodic weekday lane closure with flagging will be in place through Friday, May 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Langhorne-Yardley Road between Bridgetown Pike and Briggs Road and Woodbourne Road between Kilburn Road and the entrance to Core Creek Park.

James D. Morrissey, Inc. of Philadelphia, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 80 percent federal funds and 20 percent state funds.

Route 1/Interstate 295

Milling and paving operations are scheduled on U.S. 1 below I-295 in Middletown Township under a $37.4 million project to perform high-priority repairs on interstate bridges.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction: Monday, April 27, through Friday, May 1, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, lane closures will be in place on U.S. 1 in both directions approaching the I-295 Interchange.

Under this contract, PennDOT’s contractor are making repairs to the deteriorated bridge decks, superstructure components, and portions of the substructures as needed.

IEW Construction Group, Inc. of Hamilton, N.J., is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
