Contractor Swindled Resident Out Of $16K: Newtown Township Police

Police also investigated a retail theft at the Wrightstown CVS store and a theft from a construction site in the township.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Newtown Township reported the following incidents between August 25 and August 30.

August 25

  • A Newtown Township resident contacted police around 3:30 p.m. to report an incident of fraud. He told police that a contractor he hired swindled him out of $16,000. The investigation is ongoing.

August 26

  • Police were dispatched to the CVS in Wrightstown Township around 11:45 a.m. for the report of a retail theft. The loss was approximately $1,715. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

August 30

  • At noon police were contacted in regards to thefts from a construction site in Newtown Township. The investigation is ongoing.
  • A Newtown Township resident reported fraudulent charges on his credit card. The bank investigated the matter and the resident was not held responsible and did not suffer any monetary loss.
