The Council Rock School District will hold its annual public budget forum on Wednesday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.
The forum will be a chance for residents to get information about the $227 million budget proposed for 2016-2017. The preliminary budget was approved in April and will be considered for final adoption in June.

If the budget is approved as proposed, there would be a 2.4 percent tax increase, which is about $106 for the average homeowner, according to information provided by the school district.
BucksLocalNews.com reports the district is still facing a $5.2 million deficit, down from about $14 million. To get where it is today, the administration made cuts. Plus, additional savings should be realized from staff retirements and the district may get more than it anticipated from the state in basic education funding, the report said.
