NEWTOWN, PA — The Council Rock School Board will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28 beginning at 7 p.m. inside the Chancellor Center.

The board is scheduled to publicly interview four candidates for an open seat on the school board representing Region 9 (Wrightstown Township and Districts 1 and 2 in Newtown Township).

The seat was formerly held by Kristin Marcell who resigned earlier this month to concentrate on her new duties as state representative in the 178th House District.

According to procedures expected to be confirmed by the board at the start of the meeting, the candidates will draw lots to see who goes first. The candidates will then be interviewed one at a time with each candidate allotted 20 minutes. Board members will have the opportunity to ask one question with the same set of questions being asked of all candidates.

Following the interviews, the board may vote to appoint a candidate to fill the term, which expires in early December following the November election.
