Capital planning is on the agenda for the Council Rock School Board meeting on Thursday.

The school board is expected to discuss the process and timeline to be used when making decisions on the upcoming capital planning process, which has been targeted to begin by the 2018-19 school year.

Master capital planning includes consideration of elementary school consolidation, K-12 redistricting and selling or repurposing non-school facilities, the district has said.

Superintendent Robert Fraser has said in the past the redistricting should not happen until construction at Holland and Newtown middle schools is complete. If school closures and redistricting are done in steps, some students may be redistricted two times, he said at a meeting in March.

In that past, capital planning discussions have centered around closing Richboro Middle School and Wrightstown Elementary School, which was transitioned to a K-4 school in 2015. No formal proposals have been presented.
