Council Rock Cautions Against Phishing Scam Using District's Logo

A phishing scam seeking donations is being sent out using the Council Rock logo and what appears to be a district email address.

NEWTOWN, PA — The Council Rock School District is cautioning residents not to fall for a phishing scam using the school district's logo and an email address appearing to be associated with the school district.

In a message sent out over the weekend, Superintendent Andy Sanko writes, "There is a phishing email circulating that is using the Council Rock logo to appeal for donations" and a return address of admin@crsd.org.dir.

"Please be aware that this communication was not sent from Council Rock, nor is the sender a known Council Rock representative or employee," reads the message from the superintendent. "Please use caution if opening this email."
