According to the video, all district buses went through strict safety testing before they hit the road.

Each bus must go through specific crash tests, including being hit with a 4,000-pound sled at 40 mph. In order to pass, the tanks have to maintain pressure with no leaks for 30 minutes after being hit.

All Council Rock buses easily passed, officials explain in the video.

The propane bus fuel tank is mounted between the frame rails and is shielded by steel on either side, the video explains.

The buses, which are more fuel efficient, come with a cost savings for the district over time.

Council Rock Director of Business Administration Bob Reinhart has estimated the move will save the district $2.5 million over the next seven years.
