Council Rock North Cross Country Team Honored At State Capitol
State Rep. Perry Warren hosted the state championship team at the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg.

HARRISBURG, PA — The Council Rock High School North boys’ cross country team were recognized at the Capitol on Wednesday in honor of the team's 2023 PIAA Class AAA championship.
The members of the team and its coaches, Dave Marrington and Rob Rogers, were honored with House citations and recognized in both the House and Senate.
State Rep. Perry Warren (D-31) who hosted the visit joined State Rep. Kristin Marcell (R-178) in honoring the team. The team also met with State Senators Steve Santarsiero, D-Bucks, and Frank Farry, R-Bucks.

On Nov. 4 in Hershey, Council Rock North won the 11th state championship for the Council Rock boys’ cross country program, the third for coach Marrington and the second since the high school split between CR North and CR South in 2003. In a true team effort, Council Rock North won with 134 points, edging La Salle College High School by two points.

“Both my parents and all my kids graduated from Council Rock schools, and one of my kids ran cross country there. Council Rock North and its predecessor Council Rock High School have a long and storied history of success in cross country, and it is great to welcome and honor this team,” Warren said. “Congratulations to the 2023 edition of the team for adding to Council Rock’s distance running legacy.”
Team members are Ben Mischel, Matt Gosling, Jack Gosling, Andrew Young, Lucas Poliseno, Joey Crowne, Brady Ott and Jayden Neels.

Warren represents the 31st Legislative District in Bucks County, comprised of Lower Makefield, Newtown Borough, Newtown Township, Upper Makefield and Yardley.
