Principal Dan Greenland will retire this month after 43 years in the Council Rock School District.

After working in the Council Rock School District for 43 years, Holland Middle School principal Dan Greenland will retire at the end of this year.
Greenland has been principal at Holland Middle School for six years and the assistant principal there for 11 years.
Prior to that, he taught elementary special education and provided administrative services to the then Goodnoe/Chancellor Elementary School.

"These varied experiences have been helpful to Council Rock through the transition from junior high schools to middle schools. We extend a very special thank you to him for his service and offer him our warmest wishes for a happy and healthy retirement," Superintendent Robert Fraser said in an email to the school community.
Taking over at the helm at Holland Middle School will be Rich Hollanhan, current principal at Richboro Middle School.

Hollahan will oversee the next two years of construction, and "will be positioned to help seamlessly transition the student body, staff, and parents into a renovated and expanded 'new school' in September 2018," Fraser said.
"This transition process will be a complicated one and we are fortunate to have someone with Mr. Hollahan’s successful middle level leadership experience to serve in this lead role throughout this process."
With Hollahan’s move to Holland Middle School, Holland Elementary School's current principal, Andy Sanko, will become principal of Richboro Middle School. "We fully recognize that the next two years could be a difficult time of transition for RMS and empathize with the community’s impending sense of closure, and so it was important to prioritize the placement of the steady hand and the calming influence of a veteran educator such as Mr. Sanko," Fraser said.
Sanko served as assistant principal at Richboro Middle School before becoming principal of Holland Elementary.
Joe MacClay, interim director of elementary education and curriculum services, will become principal at Holland Elementary School. MacClay was also previously the principal of Maureen M. Welch and Rolling Hills Elementary schools.
