Council Rock Reaches Contract Agreement With Teachers Union
Over the three years of the new agreement, the total cost to the school district will be $6.6 million dollars, officials said

The Council Rock School District and the Council Rock Education Association has reached a tentative three-year agreement, officials announced Thursday.
CREA is expected to conduct its ratification vote on Wednesday, June 17. The Board will vote on the agreement during its regularly-scheduled board meeting on Thursday, June 18. That meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.
Over the course of the three-year agreement, the salary schedule will be modified and teachers will receive “modest” increases to the salary schedule and to the top salary step, according to information from the district.

The total cost to the school district will be $6.6 million dollars over the three years, officials said.
“That additional cost will be offset, in large part, by savings generated through attrition as retiring teachers exit from the top of the scale and are replaced by teachers who are placed on beginning steps,” the district announced.

“The new contract includes changes in employee benefits, including the elimination and addition of new plan options to migrate to more cost effective plans from the Personal Choice menu and additional employee contributions towards the more costly plans. Professional Staff will receive increases in their dental coverage and a new vision plan,” the district said in a statement.
Formal collective bargaining began in January and culminated in early June.
“ This agreement reflects the continued strong relationship between our school district and CREA,” the district said in a statement.
