Council Rock School Board Looking To Fill Vacant Seat

NEWTOWN, PA — There is a vacancy on the Council Rock School Board and the district is seeking applications from interested candidates. A special meeting to interview candidates has been scheduled for July 13 at 7 p.m. at the Chancellor Center. The new director will be appointed that night, the district said.

Applicants for the Region 1 vacancy must reside within either Newtown Borough Wards one or two or Newtown Township Districts four, five or six.

The open set will cover the middle of a four-year term left vacant by Bill Foster. The appointed school director will fill the vacant position until December 2017; the board member for remaining two years of the term will be selected in the November 7, 2017 election.

"The Board is seeking candidates who are knowledgeable about CRSD and who care deeply about its future.
Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to approach the Board’s work with an open mind and a desire to
work in a collegial fashion," the district said in an announcement.
