Council Rock School Board Pushes Back Thursday Meeting Time

The reason for the change is to allow more time for the Academic Standards Committee to meet ahead of the board meeting.

The Council Rock School Board will meet Thursday at 8 p.m. — 30 minutes later than originally scheduled.

Superintendent Robert Fraser explained the time change in an email to parents:

“From this point forward through at least the end of the school year, the plan is for the first meeting of each month to typically begin at 8:00 p.m., with the second meeting of each month to begin at the traditional 7:30 p.m. start time. The reason for this change is to allow for an extended period of time for the Academic Standards Committee to meet. This committee typically meets the same night as the first Board meeting each month, including tomorrow evening, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The work of the Academic Standards Committee is critically important, as this is the work that centers on our reason for being: teaching and learning.”
