Council Rock School Board, Teachers Reach Tentative 3-Year Deal
The Council Rock School Board and the Council Rock Education Association have reached a tentative three-year agreement.

The Council Rock School Board and the Council Rock Education Association have reached a tentative three-year agreement, the district announced Wednesday.
CREA membership will vote on the tentative agreement during a meeting on June 14. The Council Rock School Board will vote on the tentative agreement at a Finance Committee Meeting, also scheduled for June 14.
The agreement goes from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021.

“The tentative agreement documents a spirit of focused partnership where both sides remain committed to the best interest of our students, community, taxpayers and professional staff. As a Board, we are very pleased to be able to work together with CREA to continue the long-standing tradition of labor peace within Council Rock," Council Rock Board President Jerold Grupp said.
Council Rock Education Association President Bill Gerhauser said the tentative agreement is "another example of the long tradition of cooperation" between the association and the district.

According to information from the district, the total cost of all salary and benefit changes within the proposed agreement is $2,300,000 for 2018-2019, $2,500,000 for 2019-2020, and $2,700,000 for 2020-2021.
The increased expense will be offset in part by retirements of current staff members, the district said.
The three-year agreement includes the following salary changes: 0.00 percent in 2018-2019; 0.75 percent in 2019-2020; and 1 percent in 2020-21.
The tentative agreement makes some modifications to health insurance benefits. The full tentative agreement can be viewed here.
