WASHINGTON, D.C. — Council Rock High School South senior Sheryl Klein witnessed history Tuesday night as U.S. President Donald Trump delivered his "State Of The Union" message to the country before both chambers of Congress on Capitol Hill.

Bucks County Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick invited Klein to the event as his guest, recognizing her leadership in fostering civic engagement and unity within Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District, which includes all of Bucks County and a portion of neighboring Montgomery County.

Klein is the founder and president of the Women’s Empowerment Club, an initiative she launched to establish a sustained forum for dialogue, mentorship, and civic engagement. Through thoughtful programming and peer-led engagement, she has built a platform that encourages young women to step forward with confidence, use their voices for meaningful change, support one another’s growth, and champion the cause of unity.

“Sherry has already established herself as a remarkable leader and unifying force in our community," said Fitzpatrick. "A senior at Council Rock South, she founded and leads the Women’s Empowerment Club — a platform for civic engagement, important dialogue, and mentorship that encourages young women to step forward, work together, and serve their community, their country, and one another."

He continued, “At a young age, she understands that unity is built through action, empowerment comes from lifting others, and that citizenship is not merely a word, but a responsibility. That is the kind of civic engagement we should be encouraging across this country at every level: unifying, positive, and rooted in service to something greater than ourselves. Sheryl exemplifies that spirit, and I’m proud to have her join me at the State of the Union.”

Fitzpatrick’s past State of the Union guests have included Zeyneb Kir, a rising healthcare leader from Bucks County Technical High School; Jake Woodard, a Pennsbury High School special education advocate and life-saving hero; Sara Harvey, a courageous young cancer survivor; and Matt Bellina, a Navy veteran and ALS advocate whose efforts helped secure the signing of Fitzpatrick’s Right to Try Act into law — individuals who inspire, advocate for others, and strengthen our community.

"Sheryl Klein now joins this distinguished group of PA-1 leaders," said Fitzpatrick.
