The famous Trenton pizza joint will open a location in Lower Makefield.

The Lower Makefield Township supervisors this week granted final approval for the restaurant, which will be located at Yardley-Langhorne and Edgewood roads, the Bucks County Courier Times reports.

A few years back, DeLorenzo's had considered Newtown for its Bucks County location. But in 2014, the restaurant abandoned its effort to open on Newtown-Yardley Road at the site of the former Newtown Veterinary Hospital. That site is now Margiotti and Kroll Pediatricts.

“My client has determined that the feasibility of the project is in question and because of the tremendous financial commitment that must be made to proceed, my client has elected to abandon the project,” the restaurant’s attorney wrote in a letter to Newtown Township in January 2014.

DeLorenzo’s Tomato Pies are famous throughout the region. The pizzeria first opened in Trenton in 1947.
