Discovery Of Old Bullet Prompts Notification From Council Rock
Under the school code, the district is required to notify parents and staff within 24 hours of when an incident involving a weapon occurs.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — An old bullet found in the desk of a staff member at Council Rock High School North on Wednesday prompted a safety notification from the school district.
In a letter sent to parents by Superintendent Dr. Andy Sanko and Principal Jason Traczykiewicz, the district reported that after the bullet was found, it was secured, and law enforcement was contacted as a precaution.
Under the school code, the district is required to notify parents, guardians, employees, and the community within 24 hours when an incident involving a weapon occurs on school property, at a school-sponsored event, or while using school transportation.

“We ask families to reinforce with students that bringing any type of weapon or replica weapon to school, whether intentional or not, has serious consequences under school policy," the administrators said in their letter.
“If students have questions or concerns after a safety notification is issued, families can reassure them that each situation is handled thoughtfully, with student safety as the priority, and that coordination by law enforcement is appropriate when necessary,” the letter said.
