NEWTOWN, PA — A documentary about craft beer will be screened next week at the Newtown Theatre in an event that will raise money for the local A Love for Life nonprofit organization.

The event takes place on World Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day and raises money for A Life for Life, which is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer research. The organization has partnered with the Abramson Cancer Center, and 100 percent of the money raised directly funds cutting-edge research in Philadelphia.
“Our team spent the last year-plus crisscrossing the state to capture the craft beer story in Pennsylvania,” said Nate Kresge, GK Visual Co-Owner and Executive Producer. “We’re excited to share this story with everyone who helped make it, as well as Pennsylvania’s growing and dedicated craft beer community.”

From America's oldest brewery to taprooms changing the landscape of small towns across the commonwealth, GK Visual's Poured in PA illustrates the importance of this ancient, but newly redeveloped, industry and its impact on Pennsylvania.
The documentary features several well-known Pennsylvania breweries, including Victory Brewing Co., Voodoo Brewery, Weyerbacher Brewing Co., Penn Brewery, Noble Stein Brewing Co., St. Boniface Craft Brewing Co., East End Brewing Co., and Dancing Gnome Brewing Co.
“We are honored that Nate and his team have allowed us to share this interesting and informative documentary. Thursday’s screening will be one of the only ones in our area- we are hoping that all beer lovers will come out and join in the fun,” said Christine Edmonds, president of the Newtow-based A Love for Life.
“The generosity of Newtown Theatre and GK Visual will allow us to give 100 percent of the ticket price to the Abramson Cancer Center. We also plan to head over to the neighboring Temperance House after the screening," Edmonds noted.
Tickets are $10 and can be paid directly on this dedicated Penn Giving Page: http://givingpages.upenn.edu/PouredinPA. Your receipt will provide admission. Limited tickets will be available at the door.
The Newtown Theatre is located at 120 N. State Street, Newtown.
