Donald Trump Stiffs Newtown Pa for $19k - At Least He is Consistent

Donald Trump's campaign has yet to pay the $19k bill for their November rally at the NAC in Newtown, Pa.

Donald Trump Adds to his history of unpaid bills by stiffing Newtown Pa - It was exciting to have a presidential candidate come to Newtown, Pa just before the election in November.

I was part of the mob scene there, and just got in after waiting over three hours outside the door if the NAC field house.

Donald Trump went through his standard speech about "making America great again," and left the frenzied crowd after about a 15 minute speech.

Here we are, almost four months later, and no one from the Trump campaign has reimbursed our town for a nickel of the $19k it cost to host the event.

Most of this money, as reported by Patch already, was spent to pay the overtime cost of all the police officers and firefighters needed to work the event.

It looks like Newtown has taken it's place in the long line of towns, businesses, and individuals who Trump never intends to pay back: Trump's unpaid bills - usatoday.com

"Fool me once, shame on YOU. Fool me twice, shame on ME."

Regardless of your political beliefs, you should be disappointed that a billionaire politician came to our town, spoke about "honesty" and "making America great again," and then didn't pay the bill for his campaign event.

The bitter irony is that he stiffed law enforcement; the very people he promised to support in his speech, and the officers who scrambled on short notice and worked overtime to make the event possible.

But then again, this behavior seems consistent with how (now President) Trump has always conducted business. I hope that somehow Newtown ends up getting a belated check one day in the future, (maybe he'll even show us his taxes one day?) but I'm not holding my breath.

If we get fooled a second time, shame on us!
