Driver Escapes Serious Injury In Fiery Weekend Crash In Wrightstown
Police said the vehicle slammed into a utility pole on Penns Park Road taking down wires. The wires then ignited the car.

WRIGHTSTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A driver escaped serious injury after crashing into a utility pole Saturday evening in the 800 block of Penns Park Road near 2nd Street Pike in Wrightstown Township.
According to Newtown Township Police, the vehicle sheared off a PECO utility pole and took down power lines, which ignited the vehicle on fire.

Lingohocken Fire Chief 35, Deputy 35, and Battalion 95 arrived on the scene and found a turned-over SUV fully engulfed by fire. Engine 35, Engine 95, and Tanker 35 stood by until PECO arrived on the scene and turned off the live power lines. Once power was secured crews extinguished the fire.
Police said the driver was pulled from the vehicle by a passing motorist before it ignited. The driver was treated on the scene by Central Bucks Ambulance for minor injuries.
Penns Park Road was closed between 2nd Street Pike and Cedar Lane while crews removed the charred vehicle from the roadway and cleaned up road hazards.
