'Drunk' Teens Cited After Leaving Newtown Twp Party: Police

A group of teens leaving a party on Vera Avenue failed breath tests and were cited, Newtown Township Police said.

Newtown Township Police reported the following recent activity:

March 23: A driver was pulled over on Water Lily Way around 11:30 p.m. for being involved in "suspicious driving activity. When police made contact with the driver, who was identified as a juvenile, the officer observed drug paraphernalia in plain sight inside the vehicle. The drug paraphernalia was confiscated and the juvenile’s parent was called to respond to the scene. A disorderly conduct citation may be issued depending on Youth Aid Panel eligibility.

March 24: Around 11:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a Vera Avenue residence for the report of several "drunk teenagers" leaving the home after a party. Officers arrived and made contact with several juveniles, who tested positive for the presence of alcohol during a Portable Breath Test. The juveniles were released to their parents, and the appropriate citations were issued.

March 25: At approximately 3:30 p.m., police were dispatched to an Atwood Court residence for the report of a suspicious occurrence. The complainant reported that he left his residence on business for two weeks and that he discovered damage to his front door shortly after he returned. The resident felt that someone had tried to gain entry to the home during his absence, and police processed the scene.
