Kids of all ages are invited to meet and greet the Easter Bunny beginning at 8:30 a.m. Age group hunts will follow at 9:15 a.m. sharp.

Between 8,000 and 10,000 eggs will be scattered across the grass and filled with treats. The eggs are being donated by the First National Bank of Newtown with Sam’s Club providing the treats inside.

According to hunt organizer Paul Salvatore, a few lucky hunters will find a golden egg hidden inside their colorful plastic eggs. That will entitle them to a special age-appropriate prize.

After their kids and grandchildren hit the field in a series of age-group hunts, adults and grandparents will get their chance in what typically ends up being a frenzied scramble across the grass.

The hunt, which is organized by the Newtown Rotary Club, is free and open to the public.
