Eighties Tribute Bands To Perform Journey, REM At Bucks County Theatre

Two 80s tribute bands playing the music of Journey and REM will be performing in September at the historic Newtown Theatre.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, Pa. — The historic Newtown Theatre will celebrate the 80s with two nights of tribute bands in September.

The Highway Run band presents “The Songs of Journey” on Friday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. This one-night-only concert will bring all of Journey’s arena-rock hits to the cozy confines of the 240-seat Newtown Theatre.

A week later, Dead Letter Office presents “A Night of R.E.M.” on Friday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m.

Based in western New York, Dead Letter Office faithfully reproduces the music and energy of a live R.E.M. concert. Their show features the band’s major hits plus a deep dive into their catalog for die-hard fans.

Tickets for both concerts are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com/concerts for $30 per person or $25 for theatre members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $40 at the door on the night of the show (if available). All seating is general admission.

Beer, wine, and canned cocktails will be available for purchase at the theatre before and during the show. The theatre is located at 120 N. State Street in Newtown Borough.
