Questions
1. What are the top issues currently facing your district and how do you plan to address them?
Inflation – Washington caused the inflation problem, but Harrisburg can be part of the solution. I will work tirelessly on behalf of the families and small businesses of this district to reduce their costs and improve their bottom line. Fiscal responsibility, reducing taxes and fees, and a good energy policy to keep prices low are steps in the right direction. Proud to have the endorsement of the PA Chamber, the NFIB who represent our small businesses, organizations that represent our local families.
Schools – I am proud to have worked with both parties to secure record funding for Bucks County schools, including $6.4m more this year alone. Now I want to continue to fight for more money for our local schools so the burden of property taxes can be relived, and our kids have the resources they need to learn.
Crime – We need to keep our communities safe and that starts with enforcing our laws and getting rogue prosecutors like Larry Krasner in check. That is why I introduced legislation to sentence convicted felons who commit crimes with illegal firearms to mandatory jail time and voted to hold Larry Krasner in contempt for failing to respond to the legislature. I am endorsed by the folks on the front lines of our communities, the Fraternal Order of Police, the State Troopers, and I have the support of Sheriff Fred Harran and District Attorney Matt Weintraub.
2. Identify specific goals or ideas you have to enhance life in your district.
One thing I want to do is pass a senior property tax freeze. I have knocked on tens of thousands of doors since I started my career in public service and seniors have consistently told me that they are burdened by the ever-increasing property taxes. Freezing eligible seniors’ property taxes would put into place certainty and tax relief for those on fixed incomes.
3. What in your experience or background prepares you for election to office?
I have served as a state representative for the past 12 years and I have forged a reputation for getting things done. I’ve passed landmark bills on public safety, expanding prescription drug coverage, and education. And I have always been accessible to my constituents. I’ve taken on both parties to stand up for our community and I have worked to defeat massive tax increases and pass record funding for our schools.
Even more than my legislative experience is my community experience. I’ve served as a firefighter for over three decades and as chief for over two decades. I have been on the front lines of public safety as a volunteer firefighter, and I know the values that our community holds close thanks to this service.
