Event Planned On Newtown Creek Water Quality Program

A Newtown Creek water quality program will be the topic of a presentation and discussion on March 10.

A Newtown Creek water quality program will be the topic of a presentation and discussion on March 10.

The Newtown Creek Coalition and Bucks County Community College are working together on the long-term water quality monitoring program. Water testing results will be used to assess any effects that Newtown Borough and Township activities might have on the “ecological health” of the Creek, according to the Newtown Creek Coalition.

The presentation, which is open to the public, will feature guest speaker Michael S. Bernarsky, who teaches Ecology and Environmental Studies in the Bucks County Community College’s Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Department.

The event gets underway at 7 p.m. at the Operations Center of the First National Bank of Newtown, 9 West Centre Avenue in Newtown Borough.
