Fall Harvest Carnival Brings Sunshine on a Rainy Day!
The Anchor Church and Circle of Friends Preschool and Enrichment Programs in Newtown held a community celebration.
They called it a Celebration Fit For A King! As the rain and wind picked up last Sunday, the 52 foot bouncer-obstacle course was blown up indoors and the fall festivities commenced as a moving sermon culminated. The Anchor Church and its preschool, Circle of Friends, celebrated together with the congregation, preschool families, alumni families and the general community, in honor of entering their 25th year of ministry and 10th year of early childhood education! Games and activities involving community collaboration, early childhood experiences, and good old-fashioned fun included a scavenger hunt led by an ogre, 3-legged races, sack races, face painting, sand and penny explorations, and a performance by students of the local dance academy! The gas grill was lit, providing a home-cooked lunch for all, and the harvest-themed, baked goodies were seasonally adorned, under dangling, spooky popcorn hands! Admission to the event was a non-perishable food item, which filled a bin for the Wrightstown Food Cupboard, and donations for lunch and baked items totaled over $300, which will be donated to a charity chosen by the Anchor Church. The Anchor Church and Circle of Friends Preschool and Enrichment Programs look forward to hosting the Fall Harvest Carnival as an Annual Event. Mark your calendar to come out and join the fun in 2017, and in the interim, visit for Sunday Service or to learn about the Early Childhood Programs.
