Fire Prevention Open House This Weekend In Newtown Borough
The open house takes place at the Liberty Street fire station in Newtown Borough.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Newtown Fire and Rescue invites the public to a fire prevention open house on Saturday, October 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Newtown Fire Station No. 46 at 14 Liberty Street, Newtown.
Featured will be an auto extrication at 1:30 p.m., a display of fire trucks, spin-the-wheel prizes, fun with a fire hose, fire presentation information, and more.
While at the firehouse visitors can check out the new construction taking place at the station.

For the next few weeks, the public will see a portion of the firehouse on the Washington Avenue side of the firehouse boarded up.
The goal of the project is to update the station’s antique display box in order to allow passersby to be able to see the department’s unique variety of antique equipment.

All of the improvements to the antiques and museum items are funded thanks to a trust dedicated to the department by past member John Merrick.
