First Ever 'Art in the Park' Event Happening Saturday in Newtown

The event, which is free to the public, begins at 9 a.m. at Roberts Ridge Park and will showcase the works of local artists.

Newtown Township Parks and Recreation’s first ever “Art in the Park” event is happening this Saturday and everyone is invited.

“Art in the Park provides emerging and professional artists the opportunity to showcase and sell their work and for art lovers,” according to an event announcement on Patch’s bulletin board.

The event begins at 9 a.m. at Roberts Ridge Park. The format is a casual venue artists to meet other local artists and get to know each other’s work. All artists are invited to participate.

Original works in painting, textiles, graphics, sculpture, photography, wood, glass, metals, printmaking, ceramics, jewelry and mixed media are all welcomed. The event is free to the public. There is a $10 fee for vendors.
