Food, Freebies Drive Crowd to Business Expo

Dozens of businesses filled the Newtown Athletic Club Wednesday to show off their goods and services during the Newtown Business Association’s annual expo.

The businesses association expected 70 area businesses would be showcasing their products during the 7th annual event.

The event, which was open to the public, was expected to attract about 700 people, according to estimates from the business association.

The theme for this year’s event was “Think Global…Shop Local…Music to My Ears.”

Local restaurants, including Piccolo Trattoria and McCaffrey’s, offered free samples of food and wine.
