Former Head of PTSD Clinic for Military to Speak at Newtown Quaker Meeting

Steve Nolan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who spent 25years as a therapist and 30 years in the military, will speak on “Religio” (link-back or reconnect) at the Newtown Quaker Meetinghouse, 219 Court Street, at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 20. Following the presentation, there will be worship in the manner of Friends at 11:00 a.m. with people speaking out of silence as they are moved to do so.The public is welcome at all events. Steve Nolan ran a PTSD clinic for combat veterans for the Veterans Administration for five years after his military retirement. His poetry and essays have been published in many journals and newspapers. His poems were featured on National Public Radio upon his return from Afghanistan in2007.

Nolan is also the author of “Go Deep,” “Base Camp,” “American Carnage: An Officer’s Duty to Warn,” and “A Palace of Ruins.” He is a regular contributor to the Independent News, The Bucks County Beacon. He is currently writing a book on religion, entitled, “Adam is Noticeably Pregnant”

Steve Nolan did his undergraduate work at the University of Miami in English and Psychology and his master’s degree at Barry University, Miami Florida, in clinical social work,
