Four Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI: Newtown Township Police Report
Police also investigated two incidents of stolen and forged checks and a theft from a Council Rock School District property.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests:
September 1
- At approximately 10:45 a.m. police conducted an investigation and arrested one subject from a Newtown Township residence on an active arrest warrant from the Warrington Township Police Department. The subject was taken into custody and transferred without incident.

- During Labor Day weekend, the Newtown Township Police Department conducted a DUI Enforcement roving detail in Newtown Township and Wrightstown Township as part of the Bucks County DUI Task Force. As a result of the detail, 20 traffic stops were conducted, five traffic citations, 17 traffic violation warnings were issued, and one DUI arrest was made. Newtown Township officers also assisted with the Bucks County DUI Task Force detail in Warrington Township; five DUI arrests were made.
- At approximately 12:15 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Traverse operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Newtown-Yardley Road. Upon speaking with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia were also discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
- At approximately 1:45 p.m. police received the report of a theft from Council Rock School District property. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- At approximately 11:45 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Volkswagen sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of North Sycamore Street and Swamp Road. Upon speaking with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
September 3
- At approximately 12:30 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a KIA Sportage operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Durham and Wrights roads. Upon speaking with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
September 5

- At approximately 9:15 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet pick-up truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Newtown Gate Drive. Upon speaking with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The operator refused to submit blood for chemical testing, and charges are pending.
September 6
- A Newtown Township resident contacted police around 1:30 p.m. to report a fraud involving a stolen and forged check. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- A Newtown Township resident contacted police around 4:30 p.m. to report a fraud involving a stolen and forged check. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
September 8
- At approximately 1 p.m. police responded to a medical facility on Pheasant Run for the report of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, one subject was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct.
