NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Fred Beans Ford of Newtown celebrated its grand reopening in late June following extensive renovations to bring the showroom up to date.
Formerly Bill Marsh Ford, the dealership’s transformation did not erase the fond memories Fred Beans has of his late mentor and friend.
Beans became a 25 percent partner in Bill Marsh Ford in 1972. “I shook hands with Bill, but we didn’t have a formal agreement for two years. Our relationship was built on trust.”

He became sentimental at the ribbon-cutting for the new Fred Beans Ford of Newtown, recounting his relationship with Marsh. “He took a chance on a guy who knew nothing about the car business, and since then, it’s been a wonderful journey.”
Beans bought the dealership outright in 2016, transitioning it to the Fred Beans name. Until the recent renovations, his original desk had remained in one of the offices – a reminder of where he got his start.

“This is where my roots are – here in Newtown,”Beans said. In addition to working in service and sales at Bill Marsh Ford, Beans previously worked at Hidden Valley Farm and attended the George School.
Beans hopes the renovated Fred Beans Ford of Newtown creates a comfortable space for customers to buy a car and build relationships with his team – and, most important, trust.

also awarded door prizes and showcased some of the newest Ford models, such as the Lightning, Maverick and Raptor.
