Free Computer Workshop for Genealogy at Council Rock High School North
Start or enhance your family history research at this free computer workshop, guided by experienced genealogists.

On Saturday, April 1st, the Bucks County Genealogical Society will host a free computer workshop from 10 am to 12 pm at the Council Rock High School North Library in Newtown. This free event will allow guests to research family history with guidance from the experienced BCGS genealogists. Guests may use the library computers with free Ancestry.com access or bring their own laptops, using the library’s free Wi-Fi.
There will also be a scanning area with assistance for records and photos brought by guests for digitizing. The society encourages guests to bring photos or information on WWI family members for inclusion in their current World War I project. Scans may be saved on your own flash drive or they can be emailed.
Another opportunity is a demonstration of Family Tree Maker Software which pairs with family trees created at ancestry.com, to back up information and to create wonderful charts and publications.

With the current popularity of family history research, motivated in part by witty commercials and television programs, and the catalyst of at-home DNA test kits, this workshop is a great way for interested family historians to embark on their own genealogy journey.
Council Rock High School North is located at 62 Swamp Road in Newtown, PA. Guests should park towards the right and enter at the far-right doors. The library is located on the second floor but an elevator is available.
