Stargazers are in for a real treat tonight as the full Buck Moon will make an appearance on Tuesday night. The moon will be at its fullest at 6:57 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, but won't be visible to North Americans until after 8 p.m. on the East Coast.

The Buck Moon got its name because bucks begin to grow new antlers at time of year, The Farmer's Almanac stated. It's also referred to as the Thunder Moon due to frequent thunderstorms during the month of July, The Old Farmer’s Almanac said.
