GNEC HONORS COUNCIL ROCK STUDENT OF THE MONTH
THE GREATER NEWTOWN EXCHANGE CLUB HONORS COUNCIL ROCK NORTH STUDENT BRIAN BUHR AS "STUDENT OF THE MONTH" AT THE CLUB'S DECEMBER 4 MEETING
The Greater Newtown Exchange Club (GNEC) was pleased to honor Council Rock North High School student Brian Buhr at the Club’s Dec 4 meeting with GNEC’s coveted Student of the Month (SOM) Award. Buhr stood with his parents with as the SOM award was presented by GNEC’s Laurie Collins.
Burhr has reached Distinguished Honor Roll status in all semesters from 2011 to the present and was a National Merit Semifinalist in 2014. In addition, he’s received National Spanish Exam Medals from grades nine to eleven and was a Future Business Leaders of America state qualifier in grades nine to eleven and a National qualifier in Grade 10.
Buhr’s musical interests led him to try out for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Assn Auditions and tour Costa Rica as a CRHSN Orchestra national soloist in 2014. He also competed and won the YOBC Solo Competition which led to International YOBC soloist tours through Spain, France and Italy.

Buhr combined his music activities with a love for sports, starting with playing Men’s Soccer from Grade 9 through Varsity, where he lettered in the sport, made Junior Varsity Captain and received the MVP award. He also participated in Men’s Winter and Spring Track and Field, eventually lettering in that sport.
Buhr’s community service includes stints in Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Bucks County in grades 11 & 12, membership in the Council Rock United Soccer Association, where he acted as Youth Team Head Coach, and participating in various community projects with the Boy Scouts of America.
