Goats, Dairy Cows Featured Today At The Middletown Grange Fair

WRIGHTSTOWN, PA — The goats will have their day on Thursday at the Middletown Grange Fair in Wrightstown.

This year's goat show opens the fair at 10 a.m. in the show arena. The public is invited to watch as 4-H judges rate this year's herd.

Thursday also features the 4-H Dairy Judging Contest at 4 p.m., the Stockmans Contest at 4:30 p.m., and the 4-H Awards Ceremony at 6 p.m., all taking place in the show arena.

Throughout the day, there will be horse-drawn wagon rides (fee); tractor pulls; the Tractor Parade of Power at 6 p.m.; and opportunities to watch the Pirates of the Colombian Caribbean Thrill Show and a chainsaw carving demonstration.

Don't miss the large buildings brimming with community and 4-H exhibits, including tables filled with freshly-grown vegetables and fruit. See who won this year's blue ribbons and Grange Fair bragging rights.

And take some time out on Thursday to enjoy the Grange Fair's popular chicken dinner. It will be served from 3 to 8 p.m. in the fair's dining hall.

Today At The Fair

Weather Forecast: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Northwest wind around 5 mph.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Animal Shows: 4-H Goat Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the show arena. Raymond C. and Rachel H. Gross 4-H Dairy Judging Contest from 4 to 4:30 p.m. in the show arena. 4-H Stockman's Contest from 4:30 to 5 p.m. in the show arena.

Live Shows: Chainsaw carving at 10:30 a.m., 1:30, 5, and 7 p.m., and Pirates of the Colombian Caribbean Thrill Show at 4 and 8 p.m.

Other Activities: Wagon rides by A Better Way Farm. Hay Bale Toss. Tractor Pull Test and Tune. And the Garden Tractor Pulling Prelims.

Tractor Parade of Power: 6 to 7 p.m.

Chicken Dinner: Served from 3 to 8 p.m. or until sold out at the dining hall.

Amusement Rides: Amusement rides open at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Admission: Free. There is a $20 per car fee for parking, which benefits the Lingohocken Fire Company and the Bucks County Police Benevolent Association.

Rules: Dogs will not be allowed unless it is a service dog. This is for the safety of the public, the exhibitors, and the livestock at the fair. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are permitted on Grange property. No vulgar language or behavior is permitted on Grange property. And all children must be supervised by an adult.
