While there are a number of good summer camp options in the Newtown area, I'd encourage you to go check out what Camp NAC has to offer before making your choice. Camp NAC (Newtown Athletic Club) is a creative camp model expanded upon by the ingenuity of camp director, Amanda Brown. They offer a traditional summer camp option (called NACster), but more, they have a ton of really interesting theme camps. The theme camps are full week camps, but you can mix and match days with NACster. When we moved here last summer and had our girls start with Camp NAC, we were impressed by the professionalism of the staff, the kindness and care of the counselors, and the daily fun. The kids get to swim in a resort-like outdoor pool complex, go on field trips (NACster option), and learn a bunch of new games to play with their friends.
