Grey Nun Academy Named Finalist in 2016 Best of Bucks Happening List
Earns Recognition in Best Private School and Best Teacher Categories
Grey Nun Academy in Yardley, a Catholic, independent day school serving students in PreK through grade eight, captured two finalist awards in the category of best private school in Bucks County and best teacher from the listing with Bucks Happening. Both the Academy and Academy Kindergarten teacher Mary Beth McGinty were singled out as representing the best the area has to offer in education for area students.
Bucks Happening conducted an online listing for area private schools and submissions were tabulated with five area finalists selected. They conducted an online contest which offered schools an opportunity for their constituents to vote for their choice of the best in the county. To ensure fairness and accuracy in The Happening List competition, an extensive audit process was in place while tabulating the results. Each year thousands of area participants vote to determine their favorites in multiple categories during the contest.

Deborah Kost, Head of School at Grey Nun Academy, was pleased but not surprised by the results. “Our school is an exceptional learning environment. We make certain to provide a superior education that celebrates the whole child – mind, heart, body, and spirit. Our school is dedicated to living its mission every day. Our teachers are compassionate and dedicated, and Mary Beth McGinty is deserving of this recognition. She has been teaching our young students for 32 years and continues to bring joy to the learning experience in multiple ways. Marybeth is a key member of the faculty that lights the way for young students to begin their academic journey and discover their potential. We are proud and grateful to have her on staff as she not only educates our young students, but also serves as a mentor for other teachers within our community.
“I love what I do, says Mary Beth McGinty, “The smiles of young students illuminate this world and enrich my life immensely. Teaching offers daily rewards, and I enjoy working at a school where everybody feels welcome. Our students are excited to learn, and teachers know and care about the children not only as students, but also as individuals.”
