Gymboree Closing 2 Bucks County Stores
Gymboree, the popular children's clothing store, is closing two Bucks County locations. Closing sales start next week, the company said.
Gymboree, the popular children's clothing chain, is closing two Bucks County stores, the company announced this week. The store at the Oxford Valley Mall and another at the Penn's Purchase outlet mall in Lahaska, just across the street from Peddler's Village, will be closed.
The local stores are among 350 Gymboree, Janie and Jack and Crazy 8 locations across the country that will close following a "comprehensive evaluation" of the chain's retail footprint as part of a restructuring.
The closing sales at affected stores are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 18, the company said.

“Right-sizing our store footprint is a central part of our efforts to ensure Gymboree emerges from this restructuring process as a stronger and more competitive organization, with greater financial flexibility to invest in our future," Daniel Griesemer, president and CEO of Gymboree, said in a statement.
"This was a difficult decision to make, but we are confident that it is in the best long-term interest of our company, our customers and our broader employee base," Griesemer said.
