Gypsey Funk Band brings a little funk to the 20th VRF
The 20th ViIlage Renaissance Faire features many news acts, and one of them adds a little, funk, flame, music and dance.
The 20th Village Renaissance Faire prides itself on new and interesting twists on edutainment, and this year is no different, as the schedule is delayed, as the rush to join our impressive cast continues. No worries the 20th Village Renaissance Faire will occur bigger and better than ever on the Middletown Grange Fairgrounds in Wrightstown, PA on September 14 & 15, to help the public library—the Village Library of Wrightstown. And these new groups wont be alone as the Faire boasts not only the return of its past casts with new shows, but also more new shows than ever. Why? Fair Director Ken Hone says, well to average 9,000 guests for more than a decade you need to get bigger and better every year.
This year’s faire will again feature its olde favorites such as jousting knights, flying birds of prey, fire acts, aerialists, and Living Literature while hosting historical shire events and demonstrations. More than 30 acts will grace the fairgrounds and provide continuous entertainment and exhibits fill the 10 stages, and faireways, that have become so profitable and renowned that, acts now seek out the Village Faire for the honour of appearing before the royal court and yes you, the loyal people every September. SO who is the latest addition, let me introduce to you:
The world music band, Gypsy Funk Squad, who features live acoustic music accompanied by fire and belly dancers. Gypsy Funk Squad plays folk belly dance music. Songs from Turkey, Armenia, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Africa with revamped rock/Latin/funk tunes mixed with psychedelic surprises for a fun and a dancing good time! Gypsy Funk Squad has played over 160 shows including several mermaid parades and Faerie fests, having people join in is a joy! We are sure they will be the joy to our thousands of guests this year.
