Hazardous Weather Outlook, Flash Flood Watch Monday In Philly Area

Forecasters say the rain will be "torrential" at times and could result in rapidly rising water levels along streams and creeks.

It will be a wet day Monday, with torrential rains likely and a chance of flash flooding throughout the Philadelphia region. A Flash Flood Watch is in place starting at noon and going through this evening in Southeastern Pennsylvania, the National Weather Service said.

The National Weather Service said the rain will be "torrential" at times and could result in "rapidly-rising" water levels along streams and creeks, as well as in areas of poor drainage.

Heavy rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected. As much as 4 or more inches of rain is possible, forecasters predict.
