Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Possible Wintry Mix Friday

Some light wintry mix could complicate the morning commute in the Philadelphia region Friday, the National Weather Service is warning. Luckily, no accumulation is expected, but drivers should use caution.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook ahead of the possible winter weather, saying the mix could include snow, sleet, or freezing rain.

"This could lead to hazardous travel condition from icy spots on untreated surfaces," the Hazardous Weather Outlook states.

The wintry mix is predicted before 10 a.m. Rain is in the forecast after that.

Rain will linger off and on through the weekend, with a chance of rain on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

This Afternoon: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. West wind 3 to 7 mph.

Friday: A slight chance of snow and freezing rain before 10am, then a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Light north wind.

Saturday: Rain, mainly after 4pm. High near 47. Calm wind becoming southeast 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Rain. Low around 43. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Sunday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56.
