High Winds, Hail Possible In Mid-Day Storms, Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued: NWS

The National Weather Service says mid-day storms could produce small hail and gusty winds.

The National Weather Service says mid-day thunderstorms Wednesday could produce small hail and gusty winds in the Philadelphia region. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued in parts of Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties.

According to a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued Wednesday, some showers and thunderstorms "around the midday hours" could produce locally gusty winds and hail.

The Weather Channel, in a special statement, said a line of "strong" storms is headed through Bucks, Chester, Montgomery, Delaware, Northampton, Lehigh and Berks counties.

Wind gusts of up to 40 mph are possible, along with pea-size hail, Weather.com says. "If you see lightning or hear thunder, move indoors."
