History-Making Celebration To Mark Nation's 250th At Washington Crossing Park

WASHINGTON CROSSING, Pa. – Thanks to the generosity of the community and everyone who participated in the Gene and Marlene Epstein Humanitarian Fund $10,000 Matching Challenge, a history-making fireworks show will fill the sky on July 4th at Washington Crossing Park in celebration of the nation's 250th birthday.

The Friends of Washington Crossing Park announced on Wednesday that it has surpassed its $75,000 fundraising goal and will be pulling out all the stops to celebrate with a full day of Revolutionary War living history, followed by
a free concert and fireworks display, the largest Independence Day celebration in the park’s history.

“This celebration has been powered by our community,” said Jennifer Martin, executive director of the Friends of Washington Crossing Park. “The response to this campaign has been incredible, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make it a success. Together, we’re creating a once-in-a-generation opportunity for families to come together, celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday, and enjoy an unforgettable evening of history, music, community, and fireworks at Washington Crossing.”

The free portion of the program begins at 8 p.m. with a waterfront concert featuring Bucks County pianist Keith Chasin and vocalist and saxophonist Ravi Seenarine.
Performing a lively mix of familiar favorites, the duo will provide the perfect soundtrack for families and friends celebrating America's 250th anniversary.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., spectacular fireworks display will illuminate the night sky over the Delaware River. Special fife and drum performances will accompany the fireworks, creating a patriotic finale inspired by the sights and sounds of the Revolutionary era.

Visitors looking to make it a daylong celebration are encouraged to arrive early for the park’s Living History Program, from 4 to 8 p.m. The immersive experience
brings Revolutionary America to life through a military encampment, traditional craft demonstrations, children’s activities, readings of the Declaration of Independence, and
musket and artillery firing demonstrations.

A highlight of this year’s living history celebration is the debut of the park’s new Durham boat replica. Visitors can step inside the Boat Barn, where David Dormand, Director of the Seaport Boat Shop at the Independence Seaport Museum, will be working on the vessel throughout the day.

During live demonstrations and informal discussions, guests
can learn about the traditional tools, techniques, and craftsmanship used to recreate this iconic Revolutionary War vessel and discover the essential role Durham boats played in General George Washington’s famous crossing of the Delaware River.

Admission to the Living History Program, which includes access to Bowman’s Hill Tower, is $6 for children ages 5–11, $10 for adults (12+), and $30 for a family of up to two adults and two children. Children under five, active-duty military personnel, and Friends of Washington Crossing Park members are free. The evening concert and fireworks are free and open to the public, no registration is required.

Visitors are encouraged to check the park’s website for event information, schedules, prohibited items, parking details, maps, road closures, and weather updates. This event
will be held rain or shine, though outdoor activities may be impacted by weather.
