Hit-And-Run Leads To DUI Arrest In Newtown Township

Police said officers found the suspect vehicle nearby after Monday's crash and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police arrested a driver on Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence following a hit-and-run accident at McCaffrey's Market on Eagle Road.

Officers were called to the store's parking lot at 4:45 p.m. for a hit-and-run accident that had just occurred.

During an investigation, police tracked down the suspected vehicle and spoke with the driver. Police said the investigating officer detected the odor of alcohol and placed the driver under arrest for suspected DUI.
