UPDATE: Pedestrian Hospitalized After Borough Hit And Run
A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while inside the crosswalk near the Brick Hotel. Police are searching for the driver.

Newtown Borough police are seeking the driver of a car that hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk Friday afternoon and then left the scene. The victim has been hospitalized with injuries. Police said the injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
According to police, at approximately 12: 10 p.m., a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while inside the crosswalk at Washington Avenue and State Street near the Brick Hotel.
“The striking vehicle, which is described as a white SUV (possibly a Lexus) being operated by a female with light colored brown hair, stopped, asked the victim if they were okay and stated she never saw her walking,” police said.

The striking vehicle then drove around the block and stopped at the victim again, “asked her if she was okay” and left, without calling 911 to report what happened, police said.
The victim’s condition was not immediately available.
