Holiday Parade To Step Off This Afternoon In Newtown Borough

Fire sirens, bands and chilly temperatures to welcome Santa's official arrival in town.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — If you're headed out to today's NBA/McCaffrey's Newtown Holiday Parade, you probably want to bundle up.

It's going to be sunny, but on the chilly side with temperatures around 44 degrees at parade time.

The parade is scheduled to step off at 2 p.m. from the Stocking Works on South State Street in Newtown Borough. From there it will head north on State Street to Washington Avenue, west on Washington to Sycamore Street and then north on Sycamore Street to Durham Road.

Presented by the Newtown Business Association, the parade will feature the Council Rock North and South marching bands, string bands, floats, community groups, local politicians, the Newtown emergency services and much more.

Judging will take place on North Sycamore Street next to the Green Parrot restaurant where guest announcers District Judge Mick Petrucci and Christine Nelson will offer ongoing commentary throughout the parade.
