Pre-Dawn Fire Sweeps Through Single-Family Home In Upper Makefield
Fire crews are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a single family home Tuesday morning.

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — Fire swept through a home on Thompson Mill Road just before dawn Tuesday morning.
The fire call went out at 5:01 a.m. sending the Lingohocken Fire Company to the scene for the report of a house fire. When the volunteers arrived, they reported a fully-involved, single family dwelling in the 100 block of Thompson Mill Road.

Fire crews from Upper Makefield and nearby Warwick Township, Northampton Township and New Hope Eagle were called in to assist the Lingohocken crews in attacking the fire with hose lines, ladders and aerial streams.
The majority of the fire was knocked down by 6:25 a.m., but firefighters remained on the scene for an extended period conducting mop up operations and investigating the cause of the blaze.

"All occupants have been accounted for and there are no injuries," first responders posted on social media.

The fire forced a five hour closure of Thompson Mill Road prompting officials to alert residents that school bus pickup could be delayed for children living in the area of the fire. Tuesday was the first day of school for some students in the Council Rock School District. The rest are reporting today on the district's staggered opening schedule.
The Upper Makefield Police Department posted its thanks on Facebook to the agencies that responded to the fire scene. "We are so grateful no one was injured in the fire," police posted. "We would like to thank all the agencies that assisted in getting the fire out as quickly as possible."
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Upper Makefield Fire Marshal.
