"The alarm sounded and the burglars ran off. They did not take anything," said Sabath.
Within an hour, the chief reported that Upper Southampton responded to a similar call for a burglary at a retail specialty store in their jurisdiction. Police responded and got into a foot chase with three young men from Philadelphia. It's pretty safe to assume they were the same ones who broke into our specialty store here."
Also during the month of May, Sabath said the police department participated in number of pedestrian safety details in the borough.
"All in all we made 48 traffic stops and issued 48 traffic citations," said the chief. "The number one citation was for vehicles running red lights where pedestrians were involved and also there were six citations issued for failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk."
